“Wut” is an anthem steeped in euphoria. Where “IRL” was an excursion into ghetto house, “Wut” is in half-time, drawing heavily on Girl Unit‘s Southern rap influences. Its booming low-slung kicks, monumental claps, 808 triplets, its rapturous organs and eponymous vocal cause dancefloor rapture.

These are rap instrumentals reimagined as center-piece club trax that touch on a new intensity.

“Every Time” is a triumphant, dramatically orchestral arrangement, which sees Girl Unit adopt his hovering synths to play horns, strings and a honky-tonk piano.

Meanwhile “Showstoppa” is a rubust and more stripped down beat that seems almost to demand being vocaled.
