Fresh from starting Night Slugs’ US sister label Fade To Mind, Kingdom is back on planet NS with a new 4 track EP.
The long-awaited “Let You No” continues where “Fogs” (NS006) left off: A cinematic half-time environment of impecable snap percussion and winding eski synths, with a longing performance from a disembodied diva, the track’s anonymous guest star.
“Stalker Ha” sees Kingdom return to the vogue track format he first explored on his remix of Egyptrixx’ “Everybody Bleeding” (NS002). It’s a ‘Ha track’ in that it samples Masters At Work, but its militant precision and weight are all Kingdom’s own.
“Dreama”, the EP’s title track lives us to its name, a soundtrack to the disembodied rave experience in a forest clearing that the EP’s cover depicts. Stargazing with an eski grime soundtrack.
Finally “Hood By Air Theme”, originally created for a show by the clothing label of the same name, is an apocalyptic soundscape with footwork percussion at its unsteady core.
